Christmas events and markets in Suffolk 2013

‘Tis the season to be jolly in and around Suffolk. Whether you’re a local or a tourist looking for some fun holiday events and activities, you are sure to find it all within Suffolk. From Christmas Fairs complete with a wide variety of vendors, crafts and gifts to seasonal parties and charity concerts, not a day will go by without something to do while spending your holidays in Suffolk. Here are just a few upcoming Christmas events and markets that are planned to be held during this 2013 holiday season.

Christmas Events & Markets in Suffolk

Charity Christmas Concert
On December 6th, St. Augustine’s Church is home to the popular Charity Christmas Concert. By attending this event, you’ll be helping those who are in need while enjoying a concert filled with carols and Christmas songs that will have you singing along the whole time. Tickets are just £6.00 and can be ordered by phone or in advance online. This is one concert that you simply wont want to miss.

Mr Allard’s Farm Christmas Barn
From the beginning on November through December 24, 2013, Suffolk residents and guests can check out Mr Allard’s Farm Christmas Barn. This Christmas Barn is a well-known Farm Butchery which gives you the opportunity to place your orders for your Christmas meal in advance. During the Christmas Barn event, you will find cheeses, pasties, pies, handmade crafts from local vendors, apple juice and much more. You’ll also be able to browse and purchase beautiful Christmas decorations including Christmas trees, door decorations, wreaths and mistletoe. Children will not want to miss a stop at Santa’s Grotto on the 14th and 15th of December, where they can visit Father Christmas and take a picture on Santa’s John Deere sleigh.

Freckenham Christmas Fayre
On November 29th, be sure to visit Freckenham Village Hall for the Freckenham Christmas Fayre. With free entry available, you simply can not pass up a visit to this market place event. Browse through a variety of vendor tables that are set up with handmade crafts, gifts, Christmas decorations, wooden accessories, jewelry, pet gifts, local meat and much more! Here you can complete all of your holiday shopping in one convenient location.

Beccles Christmas Lights Switch On
Beccles Christmas Lights Switch On is a popular event held at Beccles Town Centre on November 29th. This event kicks off with a spectacular fireworks display from the Church tower. The Beccles Tree Trail is also a new attraction that starts off this event this holiday season. Take a walk around the town to see 50 different lit trees that have been decorated by local businesses. Look closely at the trees to find a note with a sentence to create in order to enter the contest for a chance to win a meal for two at the Kings Head, Beccles. During Beccles Christmas Lights Switch On, visitors will enjoy live musical performances, entertainment, stalls selling crafts and Christmas decor and Santa’s Grotto. Children can also enjoy small fair rides by the Crazy Cottage.

Christmas Tree Festival & Craft Fair
Stop by the Christmas Tree Festivalcan & Craft Fair at St Mary’s Church on December 7th and 8th, 2013. For just a £2.50 admission fee, visitors can browse through a wide selection of decorated Christmas trees from companies and businesses around the town. In addition, you will also receive complimentary beverages while checking out the many different handmade crafts from local vendors.

British Crafts
Visit the Blackthorpe Barn on November 30th for a weekend event featuring over 60 exhibitors. Check out a variety of British handmade crafts including glassware, ceramics, jewelry, handbags, clothing, wooden works of art and tons more. Adults are able to enter the event for just £2 and children have free admission charges.

Other top Christmas events taking place in Suffolk this season include Velopro Spokes & Snow and Christmas Parties at The Venue at Kersey Mill. There’s tons for all to see and enjoy this Christmas.
